Increase Your Influence
No matter what your role or leadership experience, we could all do with greater influence. Most of what we achieve as leaders is as a result of influence. John Maxwell even goes so far as to say “The true measure of leadership IS influence - nothing more, nothing less”.
Influence is clearly central to our role as leader. That’s even more true when we use a broad definition of leadership. Here’s the definition of leadership that I use - “Leadership is achieving results through people for good”. Leadership is not just “leading down” to a group of people we are responsible for. More often than not, we need to influence others where we have no formal authority. Or we may even need to influence upwards to get things done. The more we can influence, the more we can achieve.
In this course we cover:
* The argument for influence
* The qualities of influential people
* Influencing “from” not just “to”
* Listening to understand
* Levels of empathy
* Building rapid trust
* Assertiveness
* Levels of listening
* Influencing tactics
* Feedback
* Difficult conversations
Upon completing the course you have the opportunity to earn a digital credential and badge. Go to www.leadership.today/earn to share what you've learned and how you're applying those skills and we will issue your credential via Credly within 7 days.
